  Infallibility of Scripture

  one of this biggest teachings present in mostly all christian denominations is the idea that the bible is infallibile.

  my question is, where does the bible say this?

  i know of many scriptures that point to the idea that what was written was directed by god, but where does the idea that what written is totally without error originate?

  Very interesting post. I consider myself an active, practicing Christian (at least I try)... yet, I've come to similar conclusions about The Bible. Yes, it is the word of God, but to a point. He has given us something PHYSICAL in trying to understand Him and by following the teachings of Jesus I believe our lives are better for it. For me, bottom line......There are many 'treasures' to be found in the Bible, but there are also just 'words' and opinions.

  First "summer" electric bill of the year.... HOLY CRAP!!!

  as an apartment dweller i'm used to an electric bill that is about $80 to $100 per month... but with the summer heat my bill just jumped to $180!

  I disassociated myself today....June 8, 2006

  i wrote a letter to some personal friends in the congregation and enclosed the letter from the un.

  i also wrote a short disassociation letter to four elders and enclosed the un letter as well.

  i delivered them to the mailboxes and also mailed a couple.

  Worst Day(s) of my Life

  a slight exaggeration: the worst day was, and always will be the 14th of january, 1998. however, these last two days haven't been good.

  on tuesday, unable to take the pain of a broken back tooth any longer, i rang my dentist's office to see if they could slot me in for an emergency extraction.

  the receptionist asked me "has anyone told you you're a pain in the bum?".

  has it ever just hit you that you need to crawl out of the hole you have been in and that you didnt even notice it?

  just a couple of days ago, i awoke to the feeling of needing to change some things.

  most of you know that i lost my sister right before xmas and that hit me hard, knocked me to my knees and i honestly think that is where i have been for awhile.

  seems michael moore was using some of the same tricks the watchtower uses (taking quotes entirely out of context).

  interesting...makes you wonder what else was misrepresented in the film.. coffee injured vet sues michael moore for $85 million.

  Ultimately this all comes down to releases. If the person interviewed signed a release form, then he will not get a penny.

  Yep... THAT's the bottomline. Forget the politics and who you do and don't like, it's a pure lack of business sense. MM still thinks he's a small, independent filmmaker who can use guerrilla filmmaking tactics and not dot the "i"s or cross the "t"s.... and now he's going to pay for it.

  many people have come to believe that the churches, religions or the world today just use "punishment" as a form of scare tactic to get controll over people.

  i am beginning to think maybe these people are right.

  it is hard for me to believe that a "loving" god would destroy 6 billion people just to save a "few" people at armaggeddon.
